Kinto Pilot Program FAQs

What is Kinto?

Kinto is a startup based in Cambridge, MA that offers technology-enabled care coaching to family caregivers of persons living with dementia. The Kinto mobile app combines three core elements:

  1. One-on-One Care Coaching

  2. eLearning Curriculum

  3. Virtual Peer Support Groups

Our care coaches work with you to to create customized plans that address the care and wellbeing of both you and the person you are caring for. During the process, Coaches provide expert advice and introduce relevant educational materials to address your family’s specific needs.

Regular peer support groups facilitated via video conference and in-app messaging underpin the coaching and curriculum providing a forum and safe space for caregivers to share their experiences and ideas.

Our approach results in personalized guidance, knowledge, and emotional support for each person’s journey.

How do I get started?

Members of the ALZ Connected community will follow a link to sign-up for the pilot program on the Kinto website: www.kinto.care/alzconnectedc30

Once you sign up, Kinto will reach out via email with information to get started.

What happens once I download the app?

Once you download the Kinto app, we’ll connect you with your Care Coach and schedule time for your virtual 1:1 coaching session.

You and your Care Coach will meet to discuss:

  • Your current caregiving situation and what you most hope to improve right now

  • Your longer-term goals

  • The Kinto experience and how to use the Kinto app

After your initial meeting with your Coach, you will have ongoing access to your Coach via messaging in the Kinto app. They will check in with you frequently to see how you and your loved one are doing, check-in on your goals, and provide on-going advice and guidance.

What does being a “pilot participant” mean?

The pilot program will run for 16 weeks and will be offered for free to caregivers. During this time, caregivers will have the opportunity to build a relationship with their Coach, attend 8 support groups and begin working on achieving their goals.

We are still in the development stage of Kinto and would love to work closely with you to understand how we can provide the best possible service and experience. To understand this better, we may ask a couple of short survey questions to gain a better understanding of how helpful Kinto is and how we can continue to improve.

Who are the Kinto Care Coaches?

Kinto and the Alzheimer’s Association have formed an official partnership whereby the Alzheimer’s Association Care Consultants are providing Kinto’s coaching services.
